About this site

Hi,

I am Julian, my wife is Anne and our lovely little Westie is Toby.  He is a friendly but quiet little boy who came first in the sniffing world championships 2007.

Pretty much as my first post says, we have created this blog because we were amazed at all the bad advice which we have been given over the years, particularly from the “professionals” whom we paid to help us.  Had we known then what we know now, we would have been able to give our first Westie, Millie, a more peaceful and balanced life with us.  She seemed to hate other dogs and travelling in the car and no one was able to give us a solution.   We rescued her from “oldies.org” but we only had her for seventeen months, as she had a brain tumour, but in the short space of time we had her, she gave so much to us and we still miss her very much.

In this blog our intention is to pass on some information, which we have which has really helped us with our current Westie, Toby whom we rescued from the Cairn and Small Terrier Rescue Centre.  This is a fantastic organisation, which does so much good for the dogs in their care.

We also hope that we might be able to learn from you so if you have any tips we would love to hear them, or any funny anecdotes.

One other thing we will do is recommend some interesting doggy products and training aids, which may be of interest to you.  You can rest assured that we will only recommend products which we think will be of help to you.  We will also only recommend tried and tested products which we have researched.

The last and probably the most important thing is we will try to do what we can to help and promote dog rescue which sadly can do with all the help it can get.
